My work is grounded in the therapeutic application of Yin Yoga, somatic practice, and a deep respect for the nervous system.
I teach in a way that prioritises safety, presence, and attunement — supporting you to slow down, listen inwardly, and work with your body rather than against it.
About Deb
I’ve been practising yoga for over 25 years and have trained extensively across Yin, Hatha, and therapeutic yoga.
I’m a qualified Yoga Therapist, and my work has gradually evolved toward a more trauma-aware, nervous-system-informed approach — shaped by both formal training and years of working with students navigating stress, fatigue, and recovery.
I continue to train and study because this work is deep — and I care about meeting it with integrity.
How this work evolved
I came to yoga in the early ’90s after burning out in my first career.
What began as a way to cope gradually became something much more — a long-term process of learning how to be in my body, rather than override it.
I trained as a teacher years later, initially to deepen my own understanding.
Stepping into teaching took time.
But that slower path shaped how I now work.
How I teach
I don’t teach yoga as something to get right.
I guide practices that help you
recognise what’s happening in your body,
respond rather than push, and
develop trust in your internal cues.
The pace is slower.
The focus is internal.
And for many people, that’s where meaningful change begins.
Training
If you’re interested in exploring this work more deeply, I offer a small group Yin Yoga Teacher Training each year.
